Grimsby Institute Hair & Beauty Learners Progress To Regional WorldSkills Final For Hairdressing, Beauty and Make-Up

Grimsby Institute is pleased to announce that our Hair & Beauty Learners have qualified for the regional finals of the WorldSkills Competition. Hollie Alston, Madeline Willows, Courteney Bett, Faye Trickett, Emily Cresses, Emily Ogden and Mollie Tate will be representing Grimsby Institute as they compete against other local colleges to win a place in the WorldSkills UK National Finals.

These learners have worked hard and competed against other amazing students from colleges across North East Lincolnshire to progress to the finals. It’s an amazing achievement and we wish them the best of luck as they continue their hair, beauty and media make-up journey.

Courteney Bett, Level 3 Beauty Therapy, said: “I had an amazing time competing last year and managed to win gold, which was great. It’s made me even more excited to compete again this year. WorldSkills has given me more confidence and it’s been nice to meet people from other colleges too.”

Rachel McLean, Curriculum Manager for Salon Professionals, said: “I’m so proud of all the learners who’ve made it to the regional finals. They’re a credit to the college and it’s great to see all their hard work paying off.”
