The TEC Partnership is delighted to announce the appointment of Ally Brooks as the new Interim Chair of Governors, succeeding Paul Barker, who is stepping down due to new professional commitments.
Ally brings with him a wealth of experience, having had a diverse career that includes military service, commercial business, public service, and education. An experienced senior executive and director, he has also previously served as a college governor.
Ann Hardy, Chief Executive Officer of the TEC Partnership, welcomed Ally to his new role, stating:
“We are delighted to have Ally on board as Chair. His extensive experience, combined with his passion for education and skills development, will be an invaluable asset to our organisation. My colleagues and I look forward to collaborating with him and the other members of the corporation as we continue to support the communities we serve.
“I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing Chair, Paul Barker, who has led the corporation for 19 months. We wish him every success in his new role and are grateful for his leadership during his tenure with the TEC Partnership.”
In response to his appointment, Ally Brooks said:
“As a former further education student and employee, I feel exceptionally fortunate to take on the role of Interim Chair at the TEC Partnership. This organisation is unique in its reach and offerings, playing a central role in so many communities across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to work closely with the talented and dedicated staff and governors across the TEC Partnership in the months to come.”
Ally officially assumed his position as Interim Chair on Thursday, 24th October.
His interim role will ensure that the governing body continues to be led by an experienced further education governor while the process for appointing a permanent chair takes place next year.
