It is important that babies and young children are in a safe and healthy environment regardless of whether they are ill or not. Sometimes a child or baby may need medical attention in an emergency if they have a common childhood illness and this course gives information on what actions should occur if certain illnesses are discovered in a child and how to recognise the symptoms of these.
On this course, you will learn units such as the safe and healthy environments for young children and babies, the policies and procedures, common illnesses and understanding health emergencies.
To complete the enrolment process, we are required to see proof of ID, such as a passport or driving license. We will also need to see either proof of earnings, such as a recent payslip (from within the last 3 months), or proof of benefits, such as a recent, full Universal Credit statement. This is so that we can check your eligibility for full funding.
These documents must be uploaded when completing your enrolment form.
Recognising signs in common childhood illnesses is important to prevent further complications with babies and young children. Being able to recognise these signs and understand the actions to take should this occur can drastically improve the life of a baby and young child. The course aims to provide the actions to take, symptoms you should be aware of in young children and babies and how to provide a healthy safe environment for them to prevent certain illnesses from starting.
